Standard hoops made of plastic or wood have been the standard in embroidery for decades. By now they exist in a huge variety of sizes and shapes. They are suitable for almost all materials, except for very thick materials.
Thanks to their technical simplicity and the large quantities in which they are produced, the standard hoops are relatively inexpensive to purchase. This makes them ideal when starting embroidery. Melco customers receive a standard set of such hoops free with every new embroidery machine.
With the help of the adjustable outer ring, almost all garments, except for very thick material, can be excellently hooped. This creates a strong tension on the material, which is essential for the quality of the embroidery.
Because in a round hoop the centre is the same distance from the edge in all directions, the tension on the textile is absolutely even. This helps you to achieve consistently good quality throughout the entire embroidery area.

Since plastic does not offer enough stability from a certain size of the hoop, there are wooden hoops. These function exactly the same, but are larger and more stable because they have a natural grain. These are available in the following sizes:
